Biden Official Travels to London for Talks on Climate Change

(HorizonPost.com) Rejoining the Paris Agreement on climate change was among President Joe Biden’s first actions after entering office. While it fulfilled a campaign promise, it was also part of a clumsy attempt to erase all things uniquely associated with former President Donald Trump. It also repeats former President Barack Obama’s original agreement to the treaty, which is arguably unconstitutional because it did not meet the required two-thirds consent of the Senate under Article 2 Section 2.

John Kerry, who was Secretary of State under Obama, is now Biden’s Special Presidential Envoy for Climate. He jetted over to Great Britain for discussions with European leaders ahead of the COP26 summit, scheduled from November 1 through 12, 2021, in Glasgow, Scotland. During a meeting with the conference president Alok Sharma at the British Foreign Office, Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson stopped by to greet Mr. Kerry.

This meeting could be a sign that President Biden seeks to have a close relationship with the PM regardless of his friendship with President Trump. Reports are that Biden will host a summit of his own in April 2021. Hopefully, he will hold an in-person press conference for the American people before then.
