(HorizonPost.com) – In a recent podcast, host Bill Maher blasted the hypocrisy of Democrat-run sanctuary cities for complaining about the influx of illegal aliens after pretending to love illegals, the New York Post reported.
During the July 30 broadcast of Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, the comedian and his guest Sharon Osbourne were discussing the homeless crisis in the United States when he noted that the Democrat leaders in “woke cities” are getting “hoist by their own petard” by complaining about border states sending them illegal aliens after boasting for years about being a welcoming sanctuary for illegals.
Maher suggested that progressive leaders should “just stop the posturing” and not pretend that they “love migrants so much” just to turn around and act like they “don’t like them” when border states bus them to their cities.
“You’re full of sh*t and we can see that,” Maher added.
He said the leaders in sanctuary cities only love illegal aliens when they weren’t their problem. And when illegals began showing up in sanctuary cities like New York or Chicago, the leaders didn’t know what to do with them.
Maher said there has to be a compassionate solution to the border crisis and asked if it was hard for sanctuary cities to be compassionate “without being an asshole.”
Osbourne suggested that 95 percent of illegal immigrants coming to the US want to work and take care of their families, prompting Maher to say the United States has always needed immigrants which he described as “the lifeblood of this country.”
He claimed that Republicans aren’t able to get organized, but asked why President Biden can’t get the southern border under control.
He claimed that Democrats are supposed to be the ones who know how to “make government work.” He said Obama knew how to do it and suggested that Hillary Clinton would have been able to do it, but said Joe Biden does not.
