Democrat Lawmakers Spotted with Pro-Hamas Demonstrators

( – Democrat members of the Squad last week visited the pro-Hamas encampment at New York’s Columbia University, including Jamaal Bowman, Ilhan Omar, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

In a video posted on X, Ocasio-Cortez was seen last Friday offering support to the students participating in the protests. Earlier in the week, the New York Democrat defended the nationwide campus protests, blasting college officials in a post on X for calling police to clear the encampments. She claimed that calling law enforcement “on nonviolent demonstrations” was “an escalatory, reckless, and dangerous act.”

Fellow New York Squad member Jamaal Bowman also visited the Columbia protest on Friday just one day after attending a Westchester County fundraising with President Biden.

Ilhan Omar (D-MN) also traveled to Columbia to show her support for the pro-Hamas protesters last Thursday along with her daughter Isra Hirsi who was among the protesters arrested by NYPD the previous week.

Meanwhile, Texas Democrat Rep. Greg Casar joined the pro-Hamas protests at UT Austin last Thursday, where he called out the university for calling in police to break up the campus encampment.

While visiting the Columbia encampment, Rep. Omar was spotted embracing the organizer of the pro-Hamas protests, student Khymani James.

Last Thursday, video footage of James from a January disciplinary hearing appeared on social media in which he declared that “Zionists” do not “deserve to live.”

After the disciplinary hearing footage went viral, Columbia announced that James had been banned from the campus. However, the university did not clarify whether James had been expelled from the school or just barred from entering campus.

The pro-Hamas protesters have been threatening and harassing Jewish students on campus, prompting Columbia to revive remote learning so Jewish students can continue taking classes virtually to avoid the threats.

The protesters have been heard praising Hamas, or Al-Qassam, chanting, “You make us proud. Kill another soldier now.” They have also chanted, “Hamas, we love you,” and called for Hamas to “burn Tel Aviv to the ground.”
