(HorizonPost.com) – Travel agent Kaitlin LeBeouf posted a video on TikTok claiming that her daughter’s bowl of cereal at Disney’s Cinderella’s Royal Table Resort restaurant in Orlando cost $70 prompting some TikTok users to call her out for lying about the price, the New York Post reported.
In reality, breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table Resort is a flat-fee charge of $69.99 for adults and $42 for kids. Technically, if a kid only orders a bowl of cereal, the breakfast would still be insanely expensive but it would not be $70.00.
LeBeouf then posted an updated video explaining that the first video was just a joke and as a travel agent she is aware of the real price. She said the video was meant to be an exaggeration about how expensive Disney attractions have become.
The high prices at Disney have been a point of contention with theme park visitors, particularly in recent years.
In March, CEO Bob Iger acknowledged that Disney was “too aggressive” with its pricing in its quest to increase profits, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.
While speaking at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference in San Francisco in early March, Iger addressed Disney’s decision to increase prices as Disney World and Disneyland, explaining that in the company’s “zeal to grow profits,” Disney had been “a little bit too aggressive” in its price increases.
Iger said Disney would need to be “smarter about how we price” so the company maintains its “brand value of accessibility.”
Iger, who returned as CEO last November after his chosen successor Bob Chapek was fired, said Disney would “listen to customers” and “continue to adjust.”
Since Iger’s return, the company scaled back some of its price increases at the parks and announced a series of cost-saving measures, including eliminating thousands of jobs.
