(HorizonPost.com) – Former President Donald Trump picked up several nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize for brokering deals between Israel, Bahrain, Morocco, UAE (the United Arab Emirates) and Sudan, collectively known as the Abraham Accords. Now, his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is forming an Institute for Peace named for them in the hopes of deepening the ties those countries agreed to and encouraging other countries to join in.

Both Jews and Arabs in the region lay claim to Jerusalem as the heirs of the Biblical patriarch Abraham. This competition has led to wars, death and destruction in that part of the world. The formation of this Institute has already been a cooperative venture with the Israeli Foreign Minister, the ambassadors from the Emirates and Bahrain, and a major donor to Democrats, Haim Saban, all working together.
By focusing on forming ties among people through tourism, trade and the arts, they hope to build a foundation of understanding the governments of these nations can build upon. Even though the world sometimes seems to be falling apart, it’s good to see positive, edifying things like this happening as well.
