(HorizonPost.com) – Georgia attorney L. Lin Wood has been fighting the State of Georgia in regard to the results of the November 3 presidential election. On November 13, he filed his first lawsuit at the Federal District Court level, asking for an injunction to prevent the state from certifying the results. This judge denied the filing because Wood lacked standing to file.
He took the next step and appealed that decision to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, asking them to overturn the lower court. The three-judge panel ruled against him agreeing with the other ruling and adding that the case was now moot because in the intervening time, the results were certified. The lawyer now plans to file an emergency appeal with the Supreme Court of the United States.

The cases running through the court systems around the country must be handled in a timely manner because the Electoral College “meets” on December 14. Since the High Court is truly the only place that can take appropriate actions, quick decisions by the lower court may end up being a blessing in disguise.
