Many Seniors Still Waiting for Stimulus Checks

(HorizonPost.com) – The enormous $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan pushed through by the Democrats provides a direct $1400 payment from the government. But senior citizens who don’t need to file annual returns appear to be getting snubbed by the people running things.

While the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) played the blame game, 30 million Americans were left holding the bag because those two alphabet agencies couldn’t manage to exchange needed information. White House Chief of Staff Ronald Klain tweeted an announcement on March 30, 2021, saying the “majority” of those payments will be in their bank accounts by April 7 — nearly an entire month after the IRS assured Americans they would handle the matter promptly.

The stimulus check delays haven’t gone unnoticed by social security recipients. CBS News recently reported that one senior said, “People in my situation are feeling lied to.” Adding insult to injury, illegal aliens who have Social Security numbers reportedly could receive as much as $4.38 billion of the bailout money.
