(HorizonPost.com) – Having a chronic illness can affect every aspect of a person’s life. For a child, it can be even more devastating. While she was First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS), Melania Trump visited the Children’s Inn at the National Institute of Health (NIH) on Valentine’s Day three years in a row.
This year, while she may no longer be living at the White House, she’s still taking time to remember the children she visited. The former First Lady paid touching tribute to the children in a February 14 social media post, sending “love & strength, today & everyday.”
On this #ValentinesDay, I think of the brave & inspirational children at @TheChildrensInn @NIH where I visited the past few years. Sending them love & strength, today & everyday. #HappyValentinesDay pic.twitter.com/rWl86el7bh

Even during the early days of the pandemic, she found time to give back to the families and frontline workers at the NIH. In May 2020, she quietly sent 150 box lunches to patients and staff at the children’s hospital with help from the White House executive chef.
Conservatives in America have shown their support for Melania Trump despite the current party division throughout the country. Recognizing the good in her, an amazing 84% of Republicans gave her a favorable rating in a CNN poll conducted the week before she left Washington, DC.
