(HorizonPost.com) – Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has said she and United States Secretary of the Treasury Stephen Mnuchin were “just about there” on a deal for a new stimulus package. Then she said that it would take so long to actually write a bill, it’s unlikely there would be a vote (conveniently) before the November 3rd election.
The Speaker’s definition of “negotiating” seems to be to avoid conceding anything because as she recently said, “I don’t think our leverage has ever been greater than it is now.” President Donald Trump has speculated that she’s holding out in the hopes that Joe Biden will win and they can then work on a really enormous package — as if $1.3 trillion isn’t big enough. At least one fact-checker believes this to be true as well.

Pelosi and the other Progressives in Congress have proven time and again during this pandemic, they’re willing to put their agenda ahead of the American people. Because of this, regardless of who wins the election, they’ve guaranteed the much-needed relief won’t happen until well into 2021.
