(HorizonPost.com) – Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) —known informally as AOC — is no stranger to using her social media presence to accuse and berate her political opponents in what is essentially a monologue-type format. Just after the Capitol Hill riots of January 6, 2021, she used that platform to suggest that Congress form a committee to “rein in” the media outlets that “spew disinformation and misinformation.”
Former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley apparently has had enough of these comments, pointing out that having a government agency riding herd over the press is one of the most dangerous ideas to maintaining a free society. She suggested the congresswoman might have a [gaping] hole in her education because the First Amendment to the Constitution expressly prohibits the government from interfering with the press.
AOC is calling for a federal commission to “rein in our media,” in a clear shot at any outlet that isn’t liberal. Few ideas are more dangerous than a govt agency overseeing the media. Apparently, AOC never read the First Amendment’s guarantee of press freedom.@standamericanow

Given Ocasio-Cortez’s statements about restraining the media, it’s concerning she is one of only 535 people tasked with guiding America into the future.
