Pelosi Slammed for Allowing COVID-exposed Congress Members on House Floor

(HorizonPost.com) – Sunday, January 3, 2021, was the first day of the 117th Congress, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) retained her position by the narrowest of margins. She was determined to keep the gavel, letting nothing get in the way, not even something so minor as a worldwide pandemic that reportedly caused more than 350,000 Americans to lose their lives.

Lawmakers from the right side of the aisle were somewhat shocked to walk into the chamber on that day only to find a new Plexiglas structure popped up overnight. This allowed several Democrats who had or were exposed to the COVID-19 virus to cast their vote in-person for Pelosi as required by House rules.

She needed 214 votes to maintain her position of power, and her trickery allowed three of her Lefty cohorts to participate despite potentially shedding live COVID-19 virus, giving her a total of 216. Five Democratic representatives refused to support her. Losing one more would have cost her the Speakership. So from her point of view, the mysterious appearance of the clear barricade was a fortunate happenstance.
