Republican Candidate Used A Secret Name, An Alias

(  – Rep.-Elect According to a Wednesday CNN report, George Santos (R-NY) ran a GoFundMe under a false name for a purported animal charity.

Santos deleted his former private Facebook account last week, but according to records examined by CNN’s KFile, he used the alias “Anthony Zabrovsky” to raise money for a favorite charity. “That alias’ GoFundMe page is no longer active.

According to CNN, Santos misrepresented the charity’s status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The report includes recently discovered untrue claims made by the incoming congressman, who admitted to “embellishing” his credentials this week. He falsely claimed to have held positions at Citigroup and Goldman Sachs. Santos went on to say that he attended Baruch College, even though he did not. He also falsely claimed to be Jewish.

Santos said his maternal grandparents had the last name Zabrovsky and fled the Holocaust. But a genealogist CNN hired to look at Santos’ family tree says none of that seems true. She claimed no evidence of Jewish or Ukrainian ancestry or previous name changes.

In a February 2022 interview, Santos claimed that because the family’s paperwork was altered to keep them safe during the Holocaust, he does not “carry the family last name.”

“In the name of survival, a lot of names and paperwork were changed for a lot of people who are descendants of World War II refugees or survivors of the Holocaust,” he said.

Therefore, he claimed he did not use the family’s last name, which would have been Zabrovsky.

Santos added that although his mother was from Brazil, she had immigrated to Belgium and then to the United States.

According to the prestigious Horace Mann prep school, Santos’ assertion that he attended it was false, as discovered by CNN.

Additionally, he stated that he participated in a panel at a private equity conference that Anthony Scaramucci organized.

According to Scaramucci, who oversees the conference, and Goldman Sachs, which has claimed Santos never worked there, the claim is entirely fictitious. Scaramucci stated that there is no record of him participating in a panel or attending the conference.
