(HorizonPost.com) – As of Monday, October 12, the hearings regarding the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court are underway in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Aside from showing that she’s well-qualified for the position, there may be an unexpected side-benefit in the chairman’s fight against his Democratic challenger.
His opponent, Jaime Harrison, has somehow managed to very quickly raise a mountain of cash to finance his push. However, the senator’s strong showing in his handling of the confirmation process seems to be blunting some of that edge.

This is good news for Senator Graham who has seen his 13 point lead from January 2020 dwindle to a statistical dead heat by the end of September. However, a recent poll from October 11 shows the lead is widening again, 48% to 42% in favor of Graham.
