(HorizonPost.com) – The summer of 2020 saw numerous protests by Black Lives Matter (BLM) and Antifa turn into riots when they created enclaves in Portland, OR, and Seattle, WA. On March 9, 2021, Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC) was interviewed on Newsmax TV, where he explained he felt there was a connection between those events and the dramatic rise in gun sales across the country.

He said fear gripped law-abiding American citizens who watched events unfold on their television and computer screens, and it created a desire within them to protect themselves and their families from potential harm. He also expressed concern over people’s future ability to exercise their Second Amendment rights under the provisions of two bills currently in the House of Representatives, one of which he called “… just very sinister, and very scary because a future administration could basically stop all gun sales by using [it].”
The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution says those rights “shall not be infringed.” Sadly, President Joe Biden’s old campaign website describes the methods he plans to use in an end-run around the provision.
