Trump Mocks Jon Tester, Saying He ‘Looks Pregnant,’ at Fundraiser

(HorizonPost.com) – During a campaign fundraiser in Palm Beach over the weekend, Donald Trump mocked Senator Jon Tester over his weight, suggesting that the Montana Democrat looked like he was pregnant.

The president was delivering remarks at a fundraiser for Texas Republican Rep. Ronnie Jackson at his Mar-a-Lago estate Saturday night.

Jackson, who formerly served as the White House doctor under President Trump and his predecessor Barack Obama, has a long-standing feud with the Montana Senator that began in 2018 when Tester, the Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, accused Jackson of misconduct while serving in the White House after Trump nominated him to serve as Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Jackson ultimately withdrew his nomination and an investigation by the Pentagon’s Inspector General’s Office later determined that some of the allegations, including alcohol abuse and bullying subordinates, were substantive.

During his remarks on Saturday, Trump noted that Tester was in a tough re-election race that “he could very well lose,” and suggested that he might have to go Montana to “campaign against him.”

Trump then joked that when he looked at Tester, he thought he could be a woman since Tester “looks pregnant to me.”

He added that except for Tester’s stomach sticking out, the senator “doesn’t look like a fat guy.”

When asked about Trump’s comments, campaign manager Chris LaCivita said that since the left believes that men can get pregnant, “where is the controversy?”

Tester is considered the most vulnerable Democrat senator up for reelection in November now that West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin is retiring. He will likely face off against Trump-endorsed Republican businessman Tim Sheehy in a state that Trump won by more than 16 points in 2020.

After Senator Tester scuttled Ronnie Jackson’s nomination, an incensed Trump blasted the Montana Democrat, even calling on him to resign from office. Later that year, Trump campaigned against Tester’s reelection. However, the senator won by nearly four points.
