(HorizonPost.com) – Police officers encounter incidents while doing their jobs that most people can’t imagine. Even they don’t know what to expect during their shifts while they protect and serve. On November 12, Louisiana law enforcement responded to a call about a bar fight that ended with an officer missing part of his ear and a female suspect on the run.
"During the struggle, Michelle Smith completely bit a large portion of the right ear completely off and she fled the area," said the police statement. https://t.co/z69KFZjZxc

It was after midnight on Friday in Houma, when a call to the police department sent officers to Joni B’s Bar around midnight. Law enforcement arrived at the scene to find a group of women fighting in the bar parking lot, so the cops intervened to break up the scuffle. That’s when Michelle Smith bit a significant portion “completely off” of one of the officer’s ears and ran off to avoid capture. She remains at large, as of November 16.
The officer is currently recovering after being taken to the hospital where medical personnel treated his wounds and did their best to repair the affected area.
The Houma Police Department is still searching for the perpetrator who faces a second-degree battery charge for her actions. Officers are asking the community to contact the Crime Stopper Bayou Region with any information leading to Smith’s location so that they can bring her to justice.
