(HorizonPost.com) – When people reach milestone birthdays, it’s customary to go all out in celebration with family and friends. On January 29 at about 3 a.m., 29-year-old Californian Heather Garcia was partying on a bus with her loved ones for her birthday when she fell out the door on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles and died. According to reports, it’s unknown why the bus door opened when she fell. Once she tumbled out the door, an oncoming car struck and ran over her.

Garcia’s brother told reporters his sister was dancing at the time of the incident, stating nobody knows why the door opened. The victim’s friends and family were understandably shocked such a thing could happen. They’re frustrated about the unsafe conditions of the bus and how it led to such a tragedy.
Garcia was a wife and a mother of 5 children under 10, and the family wants answers. Her husband set up a GoFundMe for people to support the family during this difficult time.
The car driver who struck the victim is cooperating with the police and is not currently facing charges for any wrongdoing. That said, whatever the outcome of the investigation, it’s likely that this tragedy will have a lasting impact on all who knew Garcia — especially her spouse and young children.
