(HorizonPost.com) – Comedian Rob Schneider called out Democrats for claiming that Republicans are a threat to democracy in a post on X last Sunday.
Schneider suggested that people should be cautious about any political party that claims its opponents are a threat to democracy when it is the party that is the true threat.
He cited the myriad of actions the Democrats have taken since gaining power, including arresting their political opponents, censoring those who disagree with them, and threatening to “eliminate the Electoral College” or expand the US Supreme Court to suggest that it is the Democrats that are the threat to democracy.
The Democrats have framed the 2024 presidential election as America’s last chance to save democracy by preventing Donald Trump from winning the White House.
However, in his high-anticipated interview with ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos last Friday, President Biden inadvertently undermined the talking point completely.
When asked by Stephanopoulos how he would feel if he chose to remain in the race only to lose to Donald Trump in November, the president did not express concern about the fate of democracy or the threat of its destruction.
Instead, he told Stephanopoulos that as long as he knew he gave it his all, that was all it was about.
Throughout the 22-minute interview, Biden repeatedly insisted that he was the only person who could defeat Donald Trump and dismissed concerns from members of his own party about his disastrous debate performance on June 27.
Biden argued that he had been “exhausted” on the night of the debate and insisted that he was not suffering from any serious medical condition.
When asked if he would be willing to undergo an independent cognitive test, the president dismissed the idea, telling Stephanopoulos that he undergoes a cognitive test every day.
When Stephanopoulos noted that Biden’s approval rating hovered around 36 percent and noted that no president could get elected with an approval rating that low, Biden dismissed the polls, saying he didn’t believe that was his approval rating.
Biden also dismissed the calls for him to drop out of the race to ensure that Donald Trump could be defeated, telling Stephanopoulos that he would consider dropping out if the “Lord Almighty” came down and told him.
