Pence Calls Out DOJ’s Disturbing Pattern Of Behavior

(HorizonPost.com) – Republican presidential candidate Mike Pence said last weekend that the Justice Department’s pattern of political bias from the Trump administration to today is why Americans no longer believe that the rule of law is equally applied, NBC News reported.

While appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press” last Sunday, the former vice president was asked by host Chuck Todd if he agreed with Attorney General Merrick Garland appointing US Attorney from Delaware David Weiss as special counsel in the probe into Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.

Pence said he welcomed the appointment, which he described as “appropriate” given Attorney General Garland’s possible conflict of interest in the case. He added that he is also encouraged that the House is continuing its investigations into the Biden family’s foreign business dealings.

The former vice president expressed confidence that the House Republicans will “continue to bring forward the facts in this case” as the public has a right to know if the Biden family, including the president, benefited “in a financial way from foreign nationals” while Joe Biden was serving as vice president. Pence said he hoped that the special counsel will investigate “without fear or favor,” and said that he is confident that Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan and Oversight Chair James Comer “will continue to do their job for the American people.”

Pence also told Chuck Todd that while the Trump administration was “unleashing American energy,” rebuilding the US military, and securing the southern border, agents at the FBI were falsifying documents while members of the Justice Department were “pushing a political agenda.”

Pence vowed that if he is elected in 2024, he will “clean house” at the entire “top floor” of the Justice Department and demand that Justice Department and FBI personnel are “people of integrity” who will equally apply the rule of law to every American.
