(HorizonPost.com) – Officials from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) have found more than 5,000 records containing the pseudonyms Joe Biden used during the time he served as Barack Obama’s vice president, the Washington Examiner reported.
In a letter sent to the conservative Southeastern Legal Foundation in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, the National Archives said a search of then-Vice President Joe Biden’s records turned up approximately 5,138 emails, 200 pages of responsive records, and another 25 electronic files containing Biden’s pseudonyms.
The Southeastern Legal Foundation filed the FOIA request last year in search of three email addresses under false names that Joe Biden was known to use when he was vice president, including [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected].
Biden used these email addresses for official business and to communicate with his son Hunter.
Last month, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer sent a letter to the Archivist of the United States Colleen Shogan requesting any documents and emails in which Biden’s pseudonyms appear as well as any communications involving then-Vice President Biden, Hunter, Hunter’s business associates, Ukraine, and Burisma Holdings.
Emails found on Hunter’s abandoned laptop show that then-Vice President Biden’s staff cc’d Hunter on emails involving his father’s schedule on days in which the vice president was meeting with or discussing Ukraine while Hunter was serving on the board of Burisma.
On May 26, 2016, then-Vice President Biden’s personal assistant John Flynn cc’d Hunter and his Rosemont Seneca firm on an email noting that Biden was scheduled to speak with former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
In another email from June 2016 including the vice president’s schedule for the White House visit of then-Ukrainian Prime Minister Groysman, Hunter was also cc’d.
According to Chairman Comer, the Oversight Committee is seeking additional connections between the then-vice president and Hunter’s foreign business dealings.
