(HorizonPost.com) – Just days before the US Women’s Soccer team was eliminated from the 2023 Women’s World Cup, host Megyn Kelly blasted the team for their lack of patriotism which she blamed on former star Megan Rapinoe, the New York Post reported.
During last Tuesday’s broadcast of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the host said Rapinoe is behind the team’s anti-American antics, saying she “poisoned” the players against the country.
Rapinoe became the darling of the Left after she followed former quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s lead and began kneeling during the National Anthem. She has since been an outspoken proponent of leftist causes like Black Lives Matter and has come out in favor of allowing transgender athletes to play in women’s sports.
The 38-year-old Rapinoe was only coming off the bench during the World Cup to sub for other players. But despite her diminished role on the team, the outspoken leftist continues to wield massive influence over the younger players.
Kelly admitted that she isn’t “rooting” for the US Women’s Team in this year’s World Cup, adding that she hopes they lose.
Kelly also blasted the team for behaving as if they won the World Cup when they celebrated avoiding being eliminated in their scoreless draw against Portugal last Tuesday, saying the team made “fools of themselves.”
Kelly noted that most of the players refuse to sing the national anthem and half of them won’t place their hands on their hearts. She added that the ones who do sing, “are half-assing it.”
After the US Women’s Team was eliminated from this year’s World Cup over the weekend, Kelly celebrated the news.
During Monday’s broadcast, Kelly said the team’s performance was “embarrassing” from the start, adding that while they might wear America’s uniform, “they refused to honor anything we stand for.”
Kelly admitted that she was “thrilled they lost,” saying if the team will not support America, she will not support the team.
