RNC Rocked by Bloodbath

(HorizonPost.com) – With Donald Trump’s hand-picked leadership now in complete control of the Republican National Committee, dozens of RNC staff, including those in senior positions, were fired on Monday effective immediately, the Associated Press reported.

Over 60 RNC staffers across multiple departments, including communications, political, and data, were cut loose from the Washington, D.C. headquarters as the newly-elected leadership cleaned house as part of the Trump campaign’s efforts to cement his control over the national party’s political and fundraising machine.

Multiple sources confirmed the mass terminations, which were first reported by Politico on Monday afternoon.

In responding to the Politico report on X, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene suggested that the mass exodus confirmed that the RNC was now under the control of Trump’s MAGA movement.

Trump’s RNC faithful signaled the coming terminations late last week when the RNC met in Houston for its spring meeting. It was there that Trump’s hand-chosen chairman, Michael Whately, and co-chair, daughter-in-law Lara Trump, were elected by party officials to replace outgoing Chair Ronna McDaniel.

Trump campaign advisor Chris LaCivita, who was voted the RNC’s new chief of staff in Houston last Friday, claimed that the job cuts were eliminating duplication between the RNC and the Trump campaign now that the two entities are essentially operating as one organization ahead of the November election.

LaCivita described the move as “streamlining.”

In an email sent to RNC staffers on Monday afternoon, newly-elected Chief Operating Officer Sean Cairncross notified staff that each of them could reapply for their jobs and those who did not would have to leave by the end of the month. Others were informed that they were out and should leave immediately.

Cairncross’ email, which was obtained by the Associated Press, told RNC staff that newly-elected Chairman Whatley was evaluating staff to ensure it “aligned with his vision of how to win in November.”

While the RNC and the Trump campaign similarly joined efforts in 2016 and 2020, the mass terminations and Trump-chosen leadership mark an unprecedented level of collusion.
