Rogan Stunned Over Oliver Anthony’s Powerful Testimony

(HorizonPost.com) – In a recent appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, singer Oliver Anthony revealed that his Christian faith has played a significant role in his life and that he finds peace from reading the Bible, the Washington Examiner reported.

Rogan asked the singer, who rocketed to fame last month after the release of “Rich Men North of Richmond,” what prompted him to start reading the Bible.

Anthony said a visit to the emergency room after suffering health complications led him to feel hopeless. He said he decided to turn to God, and no matter what happened to him, he vowed to make God the focus of his life.

Saying that he found wisdom in the Bible, Anthony shared with Rogan Proverbs chapter 4, verse 20.

The verse calls on believers to keep God’s words in their hearts, as they are “life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.” It encourages the faithful to not speak perversity or corruption and to keep their eyes fixed “straight ahead” while staying “steadfast in all your ways.”

In response, Rogan called the verse “pretty f*cking profound.”

Anthony overlooked the perversity from Rogan’s mouth and told him that Proverbs is “not preachy.” He said the book offers the kind of guidance a father would give to a son.

Anthony’s song “Rich Men North of Richmond,” was quickly embraced by conservatives and Republicans, prompting the media to dismiss it as a “right-wing anthem” and “conservative anthem.”

However, after Fox News played the song at the first Republican primary debate last month, Anthony expressed frustration that “Rich Man North of Richmond” was getting dragged into politics.

In a video posted on YouTube, Anthony said it aggravated him that conservative media is trying to “identify” with him as if he is “one of them.”
